Auspicious Arrival // Auspicious Arrival

Auspicious Arrival was released as part of the Murders at Karlov Manor Art Series in early 2024. This sub-set was designed to showcase the full, borderless artwork of cards from the main expansion, allowing players and collectors to appreciate the detailed illustrations without the visual clutter of frame borders, set icons, or text boxes. These cards were distributed exclusively through collector boosters, marking a continuation of Wizards of the Coast's effort to emphasize the artistic labor behind Magic: The Gathering.

The card illustration for Auspicious Arrival was created by artist Justyna Dura. Her work for this series focuses on the dramatic, top-down mystery aesthetic inherent to the Ravnica setting, utilizing sharp light contrast and stylized color palettes to evoke a sense of suspense. Upon release, the Art Series was well-received by the collector community for its accessibility as a high-quality print medium, serving as a bridge between functional game pieces and standalone fantasy art.
