Blood Age General

Blood Age General was released in 2021 as part of the Strixhaven: School of Mages expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This set centers on the plane of Arcavios and its eponymous university, which is divided into five colleges reflecting different color combinations in the game. The card represents the aggressive, martial nature of the Lorehold college, an institution dedicated to the study of history and the excavation of long-lost secrets through archaeology and spirit magic.

The card was illustrated by the artist Lie Setiawan, who utilized a distinct artistic style to portray the General as a skeletal, battle-worn figure. The design reflects the Lorehold college's unique mechanical identity, which often involves animating the spirits of the past to aid in current combat.
