Where it came from
The Boomer Scrapper card was released as part of the Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond Fallout set in 2024. It depicts a member of the Boomers, the isolationist, explosives-obsessed faction from Fallout: New Vegas that inhabits the Nellis Air Force Base. The card design leans heavily into the faction's signature aesthetic, emphasizing their salvage-driven military approach and proficiency with heavy artillery.
The illustration was crafted to evoke the grit and post-apocalyptic utility inherent to the Fallout series. By featuring the Boomers' distinct combat gear and penchant for repurposing scrap metal into functional weaponry, the art team aimed to ground the card in the visual language established by the original game developers at Obsidian Entertainment. Upon release, the card was received as a flavorful inclusion for players looking to integrate the specialized mechanics of the Fallout universe into their decks.
