Botanical Brawler // Botanical Brawler

The Botanical Brawler art card was released as part of the March of the Machine Art Series in 2023. These cards were produced as collectible inserts for Magic: The Gathering booster packs, intended to showcase the intricate illustrations from the expansion set without the game-related text or frame elements. This specific card represents the conclusion of the Phyrexians' multi-planar invasion, a narrative arc that brought together various characters and creatures from across the game's multiverse.

The illustration for Botanical Brawler was created by artist Livia Prima, who rendered the creature with a focus on its aggressive, flora-based anatomy. The art style reflects the broader aesthetic of the March of the Machine set, which emphasized the hybridization of natural elements with the metallic, biomechanical aesthetic of the Phyrexians. Upon release, the series was well-received by collectors who prioritize the visual craft of the game's fantasy setting, often framing these cards as miniature prints.
