Bright Reprisal

Bright Reprisal was released in 2017 as part of the Ixalan expansion for Magic: The Gathering. The set introduced a high-adventure, exploration-themed narrative focused on the plane of Ixalan, a world defined by its prehistoric jungle landscape, factions of conquistador-inspired vampires, merfolk, and pirates, and the persistent presence of dinosaurs. This card serves as an uncommon white spell, reflecting the set’s mechanical emphasis on treasure tokens and defensive tactical interactions.

The illustration was created by artist Igor Kieryluk, who utilized a dramatic, high-contrast style to depict the retaliatory nature of the spell.
