Where it came from
The Casey Jones, Back Alley Brute card originates from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Eternal trading card set, a collection designed to celebrate the long-running legacy of the franchise. Released to capture the gritty, street-level vigilante spirit of the character, the card draws heavy inspiration from the original Mirage Comics aesthetic, emphasizing the raw, unrefined nature of Casey's crime-fighting methods.
The illustration was crafted to highlight the character's signature hockey mask and makeshift weaponry, moving away from more stylized television iterations to favor a more visceral, textured art style. Upon its release, the set was noted by collectors for its commitment to character lore, with the Back Alley Brute entry specifically praised for anchoring the collection in the darker, noir-inspired roots of the turtles' early world.
