Where it came from
Conflux was originally released in the 2009 expansion set Alara Reborn, representing the climax of the Alara block narrative where the five shards of the plane were reunited into one world. The card serves as a powerful sorcery that reflects the union of all five colors of mana, fitting the complex, multidimensional lore of the Multiverse that Wizards of the Coast was developing during this era.
The From the Vault: Lore version of this card was released in 2016 as part of a curated collection designed to celebrate the most significant narrative moments in the game's history. Featuring unique, premium foiling and updated art direction that emphasizes the convergence of the Alaran shards, this printing was intended for collectors who valued the storytelling aspects of the game's mechanics and the aesthetic evolution of its legendary artifacts.
