Consume Strength was released in 2001 as part of the Apocalypse expansion for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This set served as the climactic conclusion to the three-part Invasion block, which centered on a massive conflict between the plane of Dominaria and the invading forces of the Phyrexians.
