Crusader of Odric

Crusader of Odric was introduced in the Foundations set for Magic: The Gathering, designed to serve as a staple white creature that rewards players for building a wide board presence. The card draws its identity from the lore of Innistrad, specifically referencing Odric, the Lunarch Marshal, a pivotal figure who rallies soldiers to fight against the darkness threatening the plane. By scaling its power and toughness based on the number of creatures under the player's control, the card embodies the theme of collective strength and martial solidarity central to the white mana color identity.

The artistic direction for this card emphasizes the visual language of the Church of Avacyn, utilizing high-contrast lighting and structured armor designs to convey a sense of discipline and divine authority. As part of the Foundations set, which was curated to provide a stable, evergreen experience for both new and veteran players, the card was crafted to be an intuitive yet tactically significant addition to creature-heavy decks. It has been noted by the community for its straightforward utility and its success in capturing the classic essence of white's 'go-wide' strategy within the modern game environment.
