Cyberman

The Cyberman token, indexed as number 56, was produced as part of the broader Doctor Who Tokens collection, a series designed to celebrate the long-running science fiction series. These tokens were manufactured to serve as both functional game pieces and collectible memorabilia, capturing the iconic aesthetic of the series' most recurring villains. The Cyberman design draws directly from the classic silver-clad, mechanical appearance of the characters, emphasizing the cold, utilitarian brutalism that defined their original television appearances in the mid-1960s.

The design process for this series focused on distillation, aiming to translate complex television props into distinct, recognizable metallic relief silhouettes. By emphasizing the distinct headgear and chest units of the Cybermen, the artists intended to provide immediate recognition for fans of the show. Upon release, the set was received as a nostalgic homage to the program’s history, appealing to collectors who sought to curate miniature representations of the Doctor's extensive rogues' gallery.
