The artwork for this original iteration was created by Greg Staples, who leaned into the dark, decayed aesthetic that defines the black color alignment in the game. The Eighth Edition reprint, featuring collector number 127, served as a foundational piece for the modern card frame transition that occurred in 2003. As part of the first core set to adopt this updated design language, the card featured modernized typography and a clean layout meant to improve readability for new players.
