What it does
As this enchantment enters, choose a planeswalker type.
Planeswalkers you control of the chosen type have hexproof.
As long as you control a creature, if damage dealt to a planeswalker you control of the chosen type would result in all loyalty counters on it being removed, instead all but one of those counters are removed.

Where it came from
Deification was released in 2023 as part of the Magic: The Gathering set March of the Machine: The Aftermath. This set was designed as an epilogue to the sprawling Phyrexian invasion storyline, focusing on the immediate narrative fallout and the reshaped planes of the Multiverse. The card represents a pivotal moment in the lore, depicting the transformation of the Planeswalker Nahiri into a being of pure lithomancy following the trauma of the conflict.
The artwork, illustrated by Greg Staples, emphasizes the ethereal and transcendent nature of the subject’s ascension. Staples utilized a luminous, textured style intended to convey both the physical shattering of the character's former self and the cold majesty of their new state. Upon release, the card drew attention from players for its unique mechanics centered on Planeswalker protection and its role in concluding a decade-long narrative arc for the character.
