Demolition Stomper

Demolition Stomper was released in 2016 as part of the Magic: The Gathering expansion set Kaladesh. Developed by Wizards of the Coast, the set was designed around an optimistic, steampunk-inspired aesthetic known as 'aetherpunk,' which prioritized invention, artistry, and mechanical ingenuity. The card was created to function as a powerful, colorless artifact vehicle, reflecting the set's core mechanical focus on constructs that players could animate during gameplay.

The card was illustrated by Cliff Childs, who captured the sheer scale and destructive nature of the machine within the vibrant, artifact-heavy environment of Kaladesh. Its design was intended to serve as a high-mana threat in Limited formats, providing players with a straightforward yet imposing representation of the plane's heavy industrial machinery. Upon its release, it was regarded as a quintessential piece of the set's mechanical identity, emphasizing the robust and often cumbersome nature of early vehicle designs in the game.
