What it does

For each opponent, choose up to one target artifact or enchantment that player controls. For each permanent chosen this way, its controller may exile it. Then if one or more of the chosen permanents are still on the battlefield, you search your library for up to that many land cards, put them onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.

Provenance

Where it came from

Disorienting Choice was released in 2024 as part of the Duskmourn: House of Horror Commander set, a collection themed around 1980s-inspired horror tropes and haunted settings. As a card within the Commander expansion, it is designed specifically for the multiplayer format, focusing on chaotic, high-interaction gameplay that fits the thematic premise of surviving a nightmarish, shifting mansion.

The card features artwork by Alexander Mokhov, whose illustration captures the surreal and unsettling atmosphere central to the Duskmourn plane. The design leans into the 'choice' mechanic, forcing players to navigate unpredictable outcomes, which serves to disrupt established board states and reflects the unpredictable, disorienting nature of the set's titular house.
