Provenance

Where it came from

Disrupt Decorum was originally released in the Commander 2017 set and later reprinted as part of the Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate expansion in 2022. Designed for the multiplayer Commander format, the card serves as a political tool intended to force opponents into conflict, effectively neutralizing a board state by compelling creatures to attack anyone other than the caster. Its inclusion in the Baldur's Gate set was intended to reflect the chaotic, high-stakes nature of Dungeons & Dragons skirmishes.

The artwork for this version was illustrated by Johannes Voss, a long-standing contributor to the game known for his expressive, atmospheric style. Voss sought to capture the essence of a forced brawl, illustrating a scene of magical influence that disrupts the order of a battlefield. Upon its release, the card became a staple in red-aligned Commander decks, praised by players for its ability to create unpredictable and often humorous interactions during games.
