Dual Casting

Dual Casting was originally released in the 2012 Magic: The Gathering set Avacyn Restored. Designed by Wizards of the Coast as a red enchantment, the card functions by allowing a player to copy their own instant or sorcery spells, effectively doubling their impact during a turn. It fits into the broader thematic context of the set, which focused on the struggle between the forces of light and darkness in the gothic horror plane of Innistrad.

The card’s illustration was crafted by artist Dan Dos Santos, who captured the chaotic, magical intensity of the effect through a vivid, swirling visual style. While the card is often utilized in niche deck archetypes that focus on spell-slinging, its inclusion in 'The List'—a rotating selection of cards inserted into Set Boosters—serves to reintroduce classic or thematic mechanics to modern players, ensuring that cards with unique utility remain accessible to the community.
