What it does
Whenever another colorless creature you control enters, you may have this creature's base power and toughness become equal to that creature's power and toughness until end of turn.
It is consistently inconsistent.

Where it came from
Eldrazi Mimic was released in early 2016 as part of the Oath of the Gatewatch set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The card represents the colorless Eldrazi, ancient and incomprehensible entities central to the set's narrative as they attempted to consume the plane of Zendikar. Mechanically, the card was designed to embody the shifting, adaptive nature of the Eldrazi, allowing it to mimic the power of larger creatures entering the battlefield under the player's control.
The artwork for this specific promotional version was created by illustrator Johann Bodin. He focused on the creature's eerie, otherworldly physiology, emphasizing the spindly, terrifying aesthetic that defined the Eldrazi faction during this story arc. The promo version features a unique aesthetic treatment common to the era's release events, and it was generally well-received by players for its aggressive utility in competitive colorless decks and its striking visual representation of the Eldrazi threat.
