Where it came from
Ethereal Armor, assigned collector number 5 within the Year of the Rabbit 2023 collection, was released to commemorate the Lunar New Year. This set was designed to blend traditional Eastern motifs with contemporary digital aesthetics, reflecting the cultural transition from the Year of the Tiger to the Year of the Rabbit, which is historically associated with themes of grace, longevity, and peace.
The visual design emphasizes a luminous, weightless quality, utilizing a pastel-dominant color palette that contrasts with the typical intensity of collectible card art. It was created to appeal to collectors seeking thematic, seasonal items that depart from standard fantasy tropes. Upon its release, the set was noted for its distinct departure from the heavier, more aggressive art styles common in the broader card game ecosystem of that period.
