Extinguish

Extinguish was released in 1998 as part of the Portal Second Age set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. This set was designed by Wizards of the Coast as a standalone, introductory experience aimed at simplifying the game's complex rules for newer players. Set on the plane of Rabiah, the cards were intended to bridge the gap between casual play and the more intricate mechanics found in the main product lines, focusing on clear, keyword-light card text to facilitate quicker learning.

The card features artwork by the illustrator Val Mayerik, who contributed several pieces to the set.
