Where it came from
Farseek was originally printed as an uncommon sorcery in the 2005 Ravnica: City of Guilds set, designed to provide efficient land-fetching for multicolored decks. The card became a staple in Commander and other eternal formats due to its ability to search for any land with a basic land type, rather than strictly basic lands. Its enduring utility led Wizards of the Coast to feature it frequently in reprint sets, including the specialized promotional runs associated with MagicFest events.
The MagicFest 2027 printing features updated border treatments and art direction consistent with the modern era of the game's aesthetic evolution. These promotional versions were produced to incentivize convention attendance and tournament participation. While the core mechanical identity of the card remains tied to its original inception within the Ravnica block, this specific iteration is highly sought after by players who favor serialized or high-quality frame variants for their collection.
