Festival Crasher

Festival Crasher was originally printed as a common creature in the 2021 set Innistrad: Midnight Hunt before being reprinted in the 2022 release Innistrad: Double Feature. The Double Feature set was conceptualized as a thematic compilation that combined cards from the two Innistrad expansions of that year, presenting them with a unique monochromatic, silver-screen-inspired aesthetic intended to evoke classic horror film styles.

The card illustration was executed by artist Milivoj Ćeran, whose work often leans into high-fantasy and grotesque realism. In designing the Festival Crasher, Ćeran focused on capturing the frenetic energy and chaotic nature of the creature, a common staple in red-aligned decks that rewards players for casting multiple spells in a single turn. The aesthetic for the Double Feature iteration was specifically modified to fit the collection’s greyscale, high-contrast visual identity, which drew mixed reactions from players who appreciated the stylistic cohesion but noted the departure from the original set's full-color art.
