Fire Elemental

Fire Elemental was originally printed as a common creature in the Limited Edition Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering in 1993. As a core representation of red mana’s destructive nature, the card was designed to be a straightforward, high-power threat intended for aggressive play styles. Its enduring presence across numerous core sets reflects its role as a fundamental teaching tool for new players to understand creature combat and mana costs.

This specific version of Fire Elemental, appearing as part of The List, features the art originally commissioned for the Magic 2019 core set. The List serves as a curated selection of cards from throughout the game's history, inserted into Set Boosters to provide players with nostalgic or mechanically relevant reprints. By reissuing this classic creature, the design team maintains a connection to the game’s roots while providing an accessible entry point for players interested in the evolution of standard creature design.
