Furnace Whelp

Furnace Whelp was originally printed in the Ninth Edition core set, later reappearing as part of the 2014 Duel Decks Anthology: Jace vs. Chandra. This compilation set was designed to reissue the original 2008 Jace vs. Chandra deck, which had become a sought-after relic of early preconstructed magic products. The anthology served to provide newer players with a slice of the game's history while highlighting the archetypal struggle between the blue-aligned Jace Beleren and the red-aligned Chandra Nalaar.

The card features artwork by Matt Cavotta, a prolific illustrator whose work defined much of the visual identity of mid-2000s Magic.
