Provenance

Where it came from

The Gauntlet of Power was originally introduced in the 2006 Time Spiral set as a powerful artifact designed to support mono-colored deck strategies. Its inclusion in the 2023 Dominaria Remastered set, assigned collector number 378, was a deliberate nod to the card's enduring popularity and utility in the Commander format, where it serves as both a mana accelerant and a lord effect for creatures of a chosen color.

The design of the card emphasizes its mechanical identity as a relic of immense magical influence. Its artwork, updated for modern sets, retains the classic aesthetic of high-fantasy equipment, focusing on the imposing visual of a metal glove crackling with energy. The card has been well-received by players for its balance of high mana cost and high impact, cementing its place as a staple in artifact-focused strategies.
