Gavony Silversmith

Gavony Silversmith was originally released as part of the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt set in 2021, later receiving a special monochromatic treatment for the Innistrad: Double Feature collection in 2022. This set was designed to merge the aesthetics of the Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow expansions, utilizing a unique silver-screen visual style that pays homage to classic horror cinema. The card reflects the lore of Gavony, one of the provinces of Innistrad, where smiths are tasked with crafting silver-infused tools to protect humanity against the plane's pervasive supernatural threats.

The artwork for this particular iteration maintains the consistent thematic direction of the Innistrad block, emphasizing a bleak, gothic atmosphere. Within the game's mechanics, the card serves as a creature that provides defensive utility by placing +1/+1 counters on other creatures, reinforcing its narrative role as a craftsman strengthening the local defense. Upon its release, the Double Feature set was noted for its striking high-contrast visual identity, which challenged the traditional vibrant color palette of the trading card game to foster a more immersive, cinematic experience.
