Genesis Wave // Genesis Wave

Genesis Wave was originally introduced in the Scars of Mirrodin expansion in 2010, serving as a powerful mechanical representation of the Phyrexians' corrupted influence over the plane of Mirrodin. The card design centers on the concept of 'growing' a board state by revealing cards from the top of the deck and putting permanents directly into play, capturing the chaotic and expansionist nature of the green-aligned mana within the set's narrative.

This specific version, released as part of the Foundations Art Series, showcases the illustrative work of Volkan Baga. In this iteration, the art focuses on a more stylized, clean aesthetic intended to highlight the card's iconic role in Magic: The Gathering history. The Foundations set was designed to provide a timeless, accessible entry point for players, recontextualizing classic and impactful spells with fresh artistic direction while maintaining the original design's spirit.
