Ghost-Lit Stalker

Ghost-Lit Stalker was released in 2005 as part of the Saviors of Kamigawa expansion for Magic: The Gathering. The set served as the third and final installment of the Kamigawa block, which drew heavy aesthetic and thematic inspiration from Japanese mythology and folklore. The card belongs to a cycle of 'spirit' creatures that feature the channel ability, a mechanic designed to reward players for holding onto specific cards in their hand to gain utility, rather than simply casting them as creatures.

The card was illustrated by Hideaki Takamura, whose work often contributed to the eerie, ethereal atmosphere of the Kamigawa plane. Takamura’s design for the Stalker emphasizes a ghostly, spectral presence, aligning with the block's focus on the spirit world.
