What it does

Each opponent reveals cards from the top of their library until they reveal a creature card. Assimilate one of the creature cards revealed this way. Then each opponent puts the other cards they revealed this way on the bottom of their library in a random order. (To assimilate a card, put it onto the battlefield under your control with a +1/+1 counter. It's a Borg artifact creature and loses all other creature types.)

Provenance

Where it came from

The Gift of Perfection card was released as part of the Star Trek Commander set, a thematic expansion designed to integrate the iconic aesthetics of the Star Trek universe into the collectable card game format. Created in the mid-2020s, this set sought to capture the high-stakes diplomacy and technological wonder of the franchise, serving as a bridge for fans of both strategic tabletop gaming and science fiction lore.

The design of this specific card features artwork commissioned to evoke the sleek, clinical sophistication of Star Trek’s various high-technology civilizations. By balancing intricate visual detail with the clear iconography required for game mechanics, the illustrators aimed to ground the card in the series' recognizable visual language.
