What it does
As this enchantment enters, choose Temur or Sultai.
• Temur — Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, target player mills four cards.
• Sultai — You may play lands from your graveyard.
The Sultai approach was silent. The Temur response was deafening.

Where it came from
Glacierwood Siege was released as part of the Tarkir: Dragonstorm promotional set, specifically issued during the lead-up to the Fate Reforged expansion for Magic: The Gathering. These promotional cards were distributed through Wizards of the Coast organized play events and retail initiatives designed to build excitement for the block's shifting timelines. The card reflects the mechanical focus of the set, which emphasized the conflict between the clans of Tarkir and the draconic forces resurfacing in their world.
The art for the card captures the aesthetic of the Abzan Houses, focusing on the fortifying and defensive nature of their civilization. It was designed to provide players with a strategic enchantment that rewarded board presence, fitting the slower, tactical playstyle encouraged by the set's developers at the time. Like other cards in this promotional cycle, it served as a collectible iteration for fans of the game's lore and competitive mechanics.
