Gluntch, the Bestower // Gluntch, the Bestower

Gluntch, the Bestower is part of the Art Series released in 2022 alongside the Magic: The Gathering set Battle for Baldur's Gate. This collection was designed to highlight the illustrative work behind the set, featuring high-quality prints of original card art on the front with branding on the reverse. These items serve as collectibles for fans of the Dungeons & Dragons crossover theme, emphasizing the visual storytelling of the game.

The art for this specific card was rendered by artist Justine Cruz, who sought to capture the eccentric and benevolent nature of the myconid sovereign. The illustration reflects the character's role in providing resources to allies, maintaining a whimsical yet otherworldly aesthetic consistent with the visual language of the Baldur's Gate expansion. Upon its release, the piece was well-received by collectors who appreciate the distinct, painterly approach to creature design found in modern Magic art.
