Grapeshot was originally printed in the 2006 expansion Time Spiral, a set designed to celebrate the history of Magic: The Gathering by featuring mechanics and characters from the game's past. As a sorcery that features the storm keyword—an ability that copies a spell for each spell cast previously in the turn—it became a cornerstone of combo decks that seek to overwhelm opponents with a flurry of small effects. The version from Time Spiral Remastered, released in 2021, reintroduces this classic staple to a modern audience with updated layout and frame treatments.
