Harmonize

Harmonize was originally introduced in the Planar Chaos set in 2007, marking a significant mechanical shift for the green color identity in Magic: The Gathering. By allowing a green deck to draw three cards, the designers aimed to provide a form of card advantage that prioritized raw power over the color's traditional reliance on creature-based tutors or land ramp. This design choice pushed the boundaries of the color pie, making the card a staple inclusion for green-aligned decks that needed a reliable way to restock their hand during mid-to-late game scenarios.

The Commander 2013 printing features artwork by Dan Scott, who was commissioned to provide a fresh interpretation for the card's inclusion in a pre-constructed multiplayer deck. Scott’s illustration emphasizes the harmonic, natural energy of the spell, moving away from the more abstract imagery of earlier versions to better fit the thematic cohesion of the Commander product. Upon its release in 2013, this version was widely accepted by the Commander community, as the reprint provided easier access to a fundamental utility card that had become essential for multi-player formats.
