Provenance

Where it came from

Harvester Druid was originally printed in the Judgment expansion for Magic: The Gathering, released in May 2002. As part of the Odyssey block, Judgment focused heavily on graveyard interaction and the green-white color identity, themes that were central to the competitive meta of the era. The card was designed to embody the druidic flavor of the set, offering a utility creature that could generate mana while interacting with the graveyard mechanics prevalent in its environment.

The illustration for Harvester Druid was created by artist Daren Bader. In his depiction, Bader captured the rugged, forest-dwelling aesthetic typical of druids in the fantasy genre, utilizing earthy tones and organic textures. The card has since seen a resurgence in popularity through inclusion in 'The List', a curated selection of cards from Magic's history that appear in Set Boosters, introducing the original 2002 design to a new generation of players.
