Where it came from
Herald's Horn was originally introduced in the 2017 Commander anthology as a utility artifact designed to support tribal synergy decks. Its inclusion in the Modern Horizons 3 Commander set marks its continued relevance as a staple for players looking to reduce the cost of creature spells and gain card advantage through the top of their library, fitting seamlessly into the high-power, flavor-forward environment of modern Commander expansions.
The card's design focuses on the 'tribal' mechanic, which rewards players for committing to a specific creature type. Featuring evocative art that highlights the horn's role as a rallying tool for various fantasy races, the illustration serves to reinforce the thematic identity of the artifact. It has been widely praised by the community for its mechanical efficiency and its ability to act as both an accelerator and a card-selection engine in creature-dense strategies.
