Impolite Entrance

Impolite Entrance hails from the Lorwyn block of Magic: The Gathering, a 2007 expansion set that drew heavily on Celtic folklore and European mythology. The set was designed to explore a world characterized by eternal daylight and a whimsical, pastoral aesthetic, featuring creature types like kithkin, faeries, and treefolk. This specific card was crafted to embody the set's focus on tribal synergies and the interplay between creatures, fitting into the game's mechanics that reward players for building decks around specific creature types.

The art and design philosophy for Lorwyn emphasized a shift toward vibrant, storybook-inspired visuals that stood in contrast to the darker themes seen in previous sets. Illustrators were commissioned to create a cohesive, bright, and slightly mischievous tone for the plane, which was intended to feel like a fractured fairytale world. The reception of these designs was generally positive among the player base, who appreciated the distinct art direction and the complex, synergy-driven gameplay that defined the era's competitive environment.
