Incoming!

The Incoming! oversized promo card, numbered 10, was released during the mid-1990s as part of a trend of oversized trading card collectibles produced by various publishers to drive engagement within the comic and hobby shop market. These cards served as promotional tie-ins, often featuring high-gloss finishes and striking illustrations designed to capture the attention of customers on store counters. They were distributed as limited-run premiums, emphasizing visual impact and a larger-than-life aesthetic to celebrate the hyper-stylized comic book art common to that decade.

The design of this series focused on kinetic action and bold, colorful imagery intended to highlight the dramatic visual storytelling that defined the era's popular comic titles. Because these were promotional pieces rather than standard game-play components, they were primarily valued as display items. While individual artist credits for specific promotional cards from this period were not always prominently featured on the card backs, the series reflects the collective output of the creative teams tasked with promoting new comic releases through the distribution networks of companies like Dynamic Forces or Marvel's own promotional departments.
