Provenance

Where it came from

The Indatha Triome was introduced in the 2020 Magic: The Gathering expansion, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths. As part of a cycle of land cards representing the tricolored environments of the plane, it was designed to support complex mana bases by allowing players to tap for one of three colors or cycle the card to draw a new one, reflecting the adaptive, mutated nature of the world of Ikoria.

The art was created by illustrator Titus Lunter, who sought to capture the overgrown and colossal scale of the plane's ecosystems. The design reflects the 'Abzan' color identity—white, black, and green—visualized through a dense, primeval landscape. Upon release, the card was widely praised by competitive players for its utility in multi-color formats, becoming a staple in various deck archetypes.
