Provenance

Where it came from

Infinite Authority is a white enchantment card released in the 1994 Magic: The Gathering expansion set titled Legends. As one of the earliest sets in the game's history, Legends was pivotal for introducing the multi-color card mechanic and expanding the game's fantasy lore, moving beyond the high-fantasy archetypes of the base game into more diverse regional inspirations.

The card was illustrated by Quinton Hoover, a prolific artist whose distinctively fluid and decorative style became a hallmark of the game's formative years. Hoover’s design for the piece emphasizes a sense of divine order, reflecting the card's mechanical function of granting power to creatures, and it remains a point of interest for collectors who value the original, expressive hand-drawn aesthetics typical of early Wizards of the Coast production.
