Inflation Station

Inflation Station was released in 2017 as part of the Unstable expansion, the third silver-bordered set produced by Wizards of the Coast for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Designed by Mark Rosewater and his team, the set was intended to push the boundaries of traditional game mechanics through a satirical lens, focusing on humor and unconventional playstyles that would not be viable in standard competitive formats.

The card features artwork by Chuck Lukacs, who utilized his signature detailed, often whimsical illustrative style to depict the mechanical contraption. The design intent was to capture the chaotic and lighthearted aesthetic of the 'Contraption' sub-theme, a mechanic introduced in this set that functioned as a separate deck.
