What it does
Whenever a commander you control enters or attacks, put a +1/+1 counter on it, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a land card. Put that card onto the battlefield tapped and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
The ever-resourceful Yeoman Rand approached scheduling conflicts and firefights with equal poise.

Where it came from
Janice Rand, Essential Aide is a card featured in the Star Trek Commander set, which serves as a supplemental expansion for the Star Trek Customizable Card Game. Released by Decipher Inc. during the late 1990s, the set was designed to introduce key supporting characters and iconic personnel who had not yet received dedicated cards in earlier expansions, allowing players to build more thematic decks centered around the crew of the USS Enterprise from The Original Series.
The card features imagery of Grace Lee Whitney, who portrayed Yeoman Janice Rand in the first season of the show. The design focused on her utility as a support personnel card, emphasizing her role as an aide who provided strategic bonuses to other Starfleet officers. Critics and players of the time generally appreciated the card for its faithful adherence to the character's television persona and its reliable gameplay mechanics within the broader Star Trek game engine.
