Kasmina, Enigmatic Mentor

Kasmina, Enigmatic Mentor was introduced in the 2019 Magic: The Gathering set War of the Spark. As a planeswalker, Kasmina was designed to support a spell-heavy strategy, functioning as a defensive piece that protects other planeswalkers while providing card selection. The character was established during this narrative arc as a mysterious figure with opaque motivations, tasked with monitoring the emergence of planeswalkers across the multiverse.

The promotional version, numbered 56s, features distinct alternative art by Magali Villeneuve. This specific rendition was released through the War of the Spark promo packs, which were distributed to local game stores to reward player participation. Villeneuve's interpretation emphasizes Kasmina's role as a scholarly mentor, utilizing a rich, atmospheric color palette that highlights the ethereal nature of her magic, and it was generally well-received by the community for its thematic depth.
