Leinore, Autumn Sovereign was released in 2021 as one of the face commanders for the Coven Counters deck in the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Commander set. The design centers on the theme of Innistrad’s human resistance, specifically the coven of witches who seek to restore balance to the plane during the prolonged night caused by the shifting of the moon. As a mythic rare, the card was engineered to anchor a +1/+1 counter strategy, rewarding players for wide board states and synergistic play.

The artwork was created by Fariba Khamseh, who brought a ethereal and autumnal aesthetic to the character. Khamseh’s illustration emphasizes the connection between the human covens and the natural cycles of the plane, utilizing warm, harvest-inspired tones that contrast with the darker, gothic elements prevalent in the rest of the set.
