Loxodon Line Breaker

Loxodon Line Breaker was released in 2018 as part of the Core Set 2019 expansion for Magic: The Gathering. As a core set, this release was intended to provide a foundational entry point for new players while introducing cards that fit into the established mechanical identity of the game’s various creature types. The Loxodon, a race of elephantine humanoids, have been a staple of the white mana color identity since their debut in the Mirrodin block, embodying themes of strength, resilience, and spiritual fortification.

The card was illustrated by Greg Staples, a veteran artist whose work on the game spans two decades. Staples employed his signature style of heavy atmosphere and textured detail to capture the Loxodon’s imposing physical presence on the battlefield. In the context of the set's design, the card was developed as a common-rarity creature to support the limited play environment, offering players a straightforward, sturdy combatant that reinforces the aggressive and protective strategies often associated with white-aligned decks.
