Where it came from
The Loxodon Partisan was released in 2011 as part of the Magic: The Gathering set Mirrodin Besieged. This set depicted a pivotal moment in the game's lore, where the metallic plane of Mirrodin was being corrupted by the biomechanical forces of New Phyrexia.
