Master Warcraft

Master Warcraft was originally printed as a rare card in the Ravnica: City of Guilds expansion in 2005 before being reprinted as part of the Commander 2011 series in 2011. The card was designed to capture the flavor of a battlefield commander exerting control over the flow of combat, allowing a player to dictate both which creatures attack and how they are blocked. It has since become a staple in multiplayer formats due to its versatility in both offensive and defensive scenarios.

The artwork for the original printing was created by artist Christopher Rush, a legendary figure in Magic: The Gathering’s history who contributed to the game's earliest sets. His illustration depicts a stoic strategist amidst the chaos of war, emphasizing the card's theme of tactical dominance. The card is noted for its complex rules interactions, which often require players to navigate the specific timing of the combat phase with care.
