Mortal's Ardor

Mortal's Ardor was originally introduced as a common instant card in the 2009 Duel Decks: Divine vs. Demonic set, specifically associated with the Demonic deck. It was designed to reflect the thematic conflict between celestial forces and infernal powers, providing a mechanical representation of sacrifice and fervor common to black-aligned spells in the Magic: The Gathering card game.

The card features artwork by the prolific illustrator Kev Walker, whose gritty and dramatic style has become a hallmark of the game's aesthetic.
