Mountain Goat

It was designed as a red creature centered on a unique landwalk mechanic, specifically allowing it to traverse mountain terrain unimpeded, which reflected the card's theme of agile, high-altitude traversal. This mechanic was a staple of the era's design philosophy, focusing on color-keyed environmental traversal to create tactical pressure against specific deck archetypes.

The artwork for the Sixth Edition printing features a focused, naturalistic illustration that emphasizes the creature's rugged adaptation to harsh environments.
