Mutavault

Mutavault is a shapeshifting land card that first debuted in the Lorwyn set in 2007. It was designed to provide utility and flexibility to tribal-themed decks, allowing players to transform a land into a creature of every creature type. Its mechanical simplicity combined with its powerful versatility quickly established it as a staple in various formats, serving as a reliable asset that can bypass non-creature removal spells while effectively triggering synergy-based abilities.

The version from Edge of Eternities: Stellar Sights represents a specialized reprint, characterized by its thematic adaptation to the celestial aesthetic of its host set. While the core functionality of the card remains identical to its original printing, the artistic direction for this release was intended to integrate the iconic card into the distinct, cosmic visual language of the set. This design choice was generally well-received by the player base, who valued the opportunity to acquire a tournament-essential card with updated, high-fidelity thematic artwork.
