Where it came from
Nature's Lore is a foundational card in Magic: The Gathering, originally debuting in the 1995 Ice Age expansion. Its utility as a low-cost card that searches for any Forest, including those with land types like Breeding Pool, has cemented its status as a staple in the Commander format. This specific version, numbered 904, originates from the Commander Masters set released in 2023, which was designed to reprint high-demand cards for the game's most popular multiplayer format.
The artwork for this particular iteration of Nature's Lore was illustrated by artist Wisnu Tan. In keeping with the aesthetic direction of Commander Masters, the illustration leans into a high-fantasy depiction of nature's growth. The card was well-received upon its inclusion in the set, as it provided players with an accessible, foil-etched or borderless frame option for a piece of cardboard that is essential for many green-aligned deck archetypes.
