Where it came from
Nature's Will was originally printed in the 2004 Magic: The Gathering expansion Champions of Kamigawa, designed as a rare enchantment that rewards aggressive play by untapping the controller's lands whenever a creature deals combat damage to an opponent. The card reflects the set's heavy focus on Japanese folklore and spirits, utilizing a mechanic that encourages players to maintain momentum throughout their turn.
The Secret Lair Drop version, bearing collector number 1282, was released as part of the 'Artist Series: Magali Villeneuve' collection. Villeneuve, a celebrated fantasy illustrator known for her intricate and emotive character portraits, brought a distinct, painterly aesthetic to the card. This iteration was received favorably by collectors who prize the artist's ability to blend high-fantasy themes with grounded, realistic textures, elevating the original card's visual identity.
